In chapter 6 the thing I will remembermost is the Whitman Massacre. Whst I learned is that 47 women and children were captured and 12 white menwere killed. This was important to our states history because it showed how much the indians didn’t want to convert their religion. The massacre happened becasue the Whitman missionaries were converting the Native American to a different religion.

Their largest fort was Fort Vancouver on the Columbia River. It was like a big community. This was important to our staes history because it created a big buisness in the state.

In chapter 4 the thing that I will remember most is about Lewis and Clark. I learned that they were sent on a mission by Thomas Jefferson to venture across americas unknown territory to the Pacific ocean and along the way discover new plants and animals. This was important to our states history becasue without them Washinton wouldn’t be here and the people who went on the Oregon trail wouldn’t have a path to follow.

In chpter 3 the thing I will remember most is the coastal indians. I will remember that theywere a sedintary tribe, so that means they lived in alonghouse. Many families lived in 1 house. I think that would be very croulded but that would be kinda fun. It is important to know about them because they were very important to WA state.

In cahpter 2 I learned about the rain shadow effect. I will remember it because it is very interesting how the weather system works, now I understand why WA weather is so weird. It is omportant because it can help determine what type of area you would want to live in or where you would want to go for the weekend.

I am very happy with my final product. I worked hard on it and it payed off. I like using Diigo and Wikispaces. It is an easy way to share our information. I like how we could change the colors of our text it made it more fun to read, for me. I hope we can do more of these kinds of projects. I think I could have improved on some of the final paragraphs. I had typed up alot then it deleted it all and I couldn’t find what I had typed

I think I did a good job on my Muhammad Book. I put alot of time into it and think it is a good product. I worked really hard on the pictures and made them look the best I could. If I could change anything in my book I would change the color of the cover. I really like how I binded the book. I think it made it more unique than just stapeling it together. Muhammads influence was good and bad. He joined people together and made a new religion. It was bad becasue he destroyed the Ka’ba. He should have left those people to believe what they want to believe. Ii think it was very mean to destroy their beliefs. I would rather do more projects than quizzes, but still have quizzes. I would like to do this kind of projects if we had the same amount of time that we had for the Muhammad Book.

If you were to go to the Arabian Peninsula in 600c.e you might want to bring a couple things. First you will need a camel a camel can last days without water and that allows you to travel longer, it also can carry heavy lads. Make sure to bring cloths that can keep you cool but can keep you covered. You need this because in the desert it can get very hot so you want to keep cool and to keep the sun off of you to prevent sunburn. If you were to visit an oases you might want to make a well to store all of the water. An oases is a very beautiful place with good water, plant life, and areas to keep animals. I would bring a tent everywhere with you because there area lots of bugs that could give you diseases. A good source of food is the date palm tree nomads used it to make houses, and to eat. It was the main resource. If you were to visit a coastal plain make sure to bring water proof cloths. It is a good area for farming so you could bring crops to grow. You could bring things to trade. A coastal plain was usually a good place to trade because it was surrounded by water. If you were to visit the mountains you could make a terrace. A terrace is a long strip of land on a hillside used for growing crops. You could make a house out of mud bricks. If you had time before you left you could make a dam and save water. I hope you got enough information and have a great time.

The first trimester of 7th grade has been really fun. I have learned lots of things. In math I learned about algebraic expressions, scientific notion. order of operations and many more fun things. In social studies I learned about the medieval ages,. fall of Rome, Black Death and everyday life. In science we studied the Grand Canyon and earth history. In language arts we learned to play close attention to details. I usually get all of my work done in class. I feel very relaxed homework wise because i always plan my time and get it done, so I have more time to do other things. I don’t know what I could do differently next trimester. I feel that I have done very well in all of my classes. In math I might redo work that I didn’t do so well on. I hope you have a good time at the conferences. =)
Love,
Nancy
